TENALI: Andhra Pradesh Urban Finance Infrastructural Development Corporation Managing Director Praveen Prakash has assured that a comprehensive underground drainage system would soon be put in place to meet the requirements of the city.

He also said a drinking water scheme that ensures potable water to every household in the town would be implemented at a cost of Rs.1.04 crore .

Mr. Prakash visited the municipality on Saturday and reviewed certain ongoing works.

Municipal chairperson Tadiboyina Mastanamma, in-charge Municipal Commissioner Sobha Rani were present.

Inspecting the works related to the laying of an irrigation drain, he sought to know why the municipality had taken up the work, estimated to cost about Rs.80 lakh.

He asked the commissioner to furnish details about the execution and letters related to sanctioning of the pipeline.

The visit was marked by sudden inspections.

While going on the main road, Mr. Prakash suddenly got out of the car and inspected the construction of a multi-storeyed college building.

He enquired if permission was obtained from the municipal authorities and took to task the Town Planning Supervisor for turning a blind eye to unauthorized constructions.
