Warning against deviations in buildings

Special Correspondent

TIRUCHI: The district administration and the Corporation here have warned of stern action against owners of buildings constructed without plan approvals or with deviations.

Collector T. Soundiah in a press release said that the district administration was collecting information on unauthorised buildings and those with deviations from the approved plans. Appropriate legal action would be initiated against owners of such properties.

He appealed to buyers of flats and shops in commercial complexes to verify whether proper approvals have been issued for the buildings and whether they have adhered to the norms. Buyers could approach the Local Planning Authority for verifying the details, he said.

Meanwhile, Corporation Commissioner T.T. Balsamy convened a meeting with engineers of the Corporation on Saturday to discuss the issue.
