Madhurawada tops in LRS applications

Madhurawada has topped in the applications for Layout Regularisation Scheme under the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority region. With 1,824 applications it netted Rs.6.45 crores towards part-penalty payment. VUDA received a total of 7,446 applications till September 5 netting Rs.17.34 crores towards penalty. September 30 is the last date for submission of applications under LRS. Madhurawada is closely followed by Pendurthy with 1,680 applications with Rs.2.5 crores of penalty payment at the time of submission. Bheemili with 868 applications, however, netted more penalty money, Rs.2.84 crores, than Pendurthy. Gajuwaka accounted for 962 applications (Rs.1.9 crores), Parawada (857 applications, Rs.1.24 crores), Anandapuram (740, Rs.1.32 crores), City Zone (168, Rs.51.36 lakhs) while from Vizianagaram 347 applications were submitted with a fee of Rs. 54.89 lakhs.
