Inside the witty and wicked monkey kingdom

NEW DELHI: Exploring the unique and unseen side of the monkey kingdom in the urban surroundings is a brand new show premiering on National Geographic Channel this coming Wednesday.

Titled “The M Company”, the six-part series takes viewers to the Galta gang’s home in a beautiful Hindu temple on the outskirts of Jaipur. Wildlife lovers would get a chance to get close and personal with the extraordinary animals as the series showcases daily adventures of primates in the urban jungle.

The Galta gang is basically a 60-strong troop of rhesus macaques. The series highlights the creatures’ phenomenal ability to rule and conquer whatever they lay their sights on. The “M Company” members are dreaded as well as worshipped and their wicked acts and intelligent strategies have been captured in the exciting new series.

Speaking about the series, Rajesh Sheshadri of National Geographic Channel (India) says: “The ‘M Company’ is an action-packed series which features some of the most exciting day-to-day footage of a notorious monkey gang captured through the Nat Geo lens. Viewers will not only have the opportunity to see these energetic and clever animals in their element but also learn about their special and distinctive characteristics.”

The “The M Company” features two half-hour-long episodes back to back every Wednesday. The series will showcase the survival skills and near human behaviour of the animals and their ability to adapt to a foreign habitat.

“The M Company” is being extensively promoted on air across leading channels as well as online. The channel has also developed an exclusive micro site for on www.natgeotv.co.in . Viewers can log in to check out episode details, schedule, factoids, gripping episode videos and an interesting photo gallery with colourful pictures.
