MADURAI: The Madras High Court Bench here on Monday dismissed as infructuous a writ petition filed against the hoardings and arches put by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam cadres during the Chief Minister’s visit to Madurai on August 6 to felicitate playback singer T.M. Soundararajan. A Division Bench of Justices S.J. Mukhopadhaya and R. Subbiah also dismissed a similar writ petition filed with regard to the CM’s visit to Tuticorin on August 5 to participate in a function for upgrading it from a Municipality to a Corporation. However, the petitioners were given liberty to approach the authorities concerned to air their grievances.
