Rourkela: Rejection of a proposal to set up a museum named after first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who had laid the foundation stone of the public sector Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), has created strong resentment among people here. The Animal Rescue and Maintenance Youth (ARMY), a social organisation of Rourkela, in a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had suggested among others, setting up of a Nehru Museum in the bunglow where Nehru had stayed during his visit to Rourkela. “A place where a personality of the stature of Jawaharlal Nehru had stayed once upon a time may be given due recognition in the year of golden jubilee celebration of the first blast furnace of the country here,” Sangram Parida, secretary of the ARMY, has said.– PTI
