Mouth-watering array: Devotees offering sweets to Lord Ganesha in Karimnagar on Tuesday. KARIMNAGAR: Everyone knows that Lord Ganesha is fond of food. In order to please the Lord, the devotees of Brindavan Complex in Karimnagar town offered a total of 108 varieties of sweets and other food items. Choicest dishesThe Brindavan Complex Ganesh Bhakta Mandali led by Konda Anantaramulu, Bhoopati Srinivas and others have been organising the Ganesh festival since long. Every year, they celebrate the festival with a difference. This time, they decided to offer a total of 108 varieties of sweets and other food items to the Lord. Accordingly, the residents of the complex prepared different varieties of sweet dishes and other items and offered the same to the Ganesh. The dishes include Chekkara Areselu, Kova Garelu, Sorakaya halva, undrallu, coconut sweet, basin chikki, kaju pakodi, pulihora, payasam, rasgolla, gulab jamun, kalakand, rasmalai, etc. Of course, the devotees had also prepared the Telangana pizza albeit Sarvapindi, the popular snack item of Telangana. Former Karimnagar municipal chairman V. Hanumanth Reddy participated as guest for the special puja during the offerings of the 108 varieties of food items at the Ganesh pandal.
