Wildlife Week competitions for students

KANNUR: The State Forests and Wildlife Department is organising various competitions for school and college students in the district in connection with Wildlife Week celebrations.

A release issued by the Social Forestry wing of the department on Tuesday said competitions would be held at the Government Teacher Training School for Men here on October 2 and 3.

The items include pencil drawing and water painting for lower and upper primary students and pencil drawing, water colour painting, quiz, essay writing and elocution for high school and college students.

The release said each institution could send a team of two students in each category quiz; while participating schools/colleges could send two participants in each of the other items of the competition.

First prize winners would be selected for district-level contests. The release said that the participants should register their names at the Social Forestry Office at Kannothumchal here.
