KATHMANDU: President Ram Baran Yadav will present the policies and programmes of the coalition government on Wednesday at the Constituent Assembly. A Cabinet meeting on Tuesday approved the programmes and policies recommended by the three major parties of the coalition - the CPN (Maoist), CPN (UML), and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF). Among others, the much-talked logical conclusion of the peace process, drafting of the Constitution, Army integration, relief and rehabilitation of the Kosi-flood victims and ties with India and China are listed in the programmes. The former Prime Minister, Girija Prasad Koirala, on Tuesday warned the Nepali Congress (NC) would initiate strong actions if the Maoists "did not change their undemocratic nature." Meanwhile, the Maoists have seized and distributed private properties to squatters in Dhading district. Protesting against this move, the locals on Tuesday obstructed the Prithvi Highway. The MJF has been observing an indefinite strike in Siraha district since September 4 after the Maoists confiscated some property.
