Bus operators threaten stir
VIZIANAGARAM: APSRTC hire bus workers’ union, affiliated to AITUC, plan phase-wise protests from September 16 onwards to demand minimum wages and appointment orders. The union president and AITUC general secretary V. Krishnam Raju told a press conference on Friday that 225 workers had been operating 112 hire bus services in the district. Though they were contributing for the growth of RTC they were not being paid minimum wages. He said that they would stage a dharna at the Regional Manager’s Office on Setember 16 and organise a conference for those working in the three north coastal districts on September 22. The union district president J.S.N. Raju was present.
