15 gates of Taliperu project lifted

KHAMMAM: Some 70,000 cusecs of water was let off from Taliperu into Godavari on Friday following heavy inflows into the project. There were widespread rains in the catchment areas of the Taliperu spread over the largely forested tracts in Chattisgarh. Damodar, executive engineer of the Taliperi proect, said 15 of the 25 gates of the project were lifted in the day and the inflows were being monitored closely.
