COLOMBO: The Sri Lankan military on Friday claimed that at least 34 LTTE cadre and a soldier were killed in intensified fighting in the north as the Air Force said it bombed two “identified” Tiger targets ahead of the LTTE defence line in Muhamalai in Jaffna. The Air Force claimed to have carried out two successive raids targeting “key” LTTE locations in Muhamalai, Jaffna, on Friday. In a report on its website, the LTTE complained that farmers were forced to abandon cultivation due to the sudden displacement in Wanni, effectively forcing them to incur loss on a relatively large investment.
