Move to handover Amrut Mahal Kaval to math criticised ‘Achievement of BJP Government in 100 days is zero’ Chitradurga: Convener of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and former MP P. Kodandaramaiah has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party Government of creating communal disharmony in the State. Addressing pressperson here on Thursday, he said that communal tensions had increased and minorities were suffering after the BJP came to power in the State. “Members of the Bajrang Dal and such other outfits are acting as though they are above the law. They vandalise prayer halls of people of other religion and the Government takes no step to stop them. This shows that the Government is supporting such communal organisations,” he said. Why should there be police and law in the State if such communal organisations become law enforcement agencies, he questioned. CriticismCriticising the Government’s move to handover Amrut Mahal Kaval (grazing land) to the Sri Ramachandrapura Math, Mr. Kodandaramaiah wondered who gave the right to the Government to handover public property to maths. “During earlier stint as a Finance Minister, B.S. Yeddyurappa had given away public money to maths, and after becoming the Chief Minister, he is giving away public land to maths,” he charged, and warned that “the Congress will not keep quiet if the Government indulges in such anti-people activities.” MockeryTerming the BJP’s “Operation Lotus” as a mockery of democracy, he said the BJP had betrayed people’s trust and mandate by poaching MLAs of the Opposition parties. “Achievement of the BJP government is zero,” he added. Former MLAs G.H. Tippareddy and B.G. Govindappa were present.
