Breach in tank

Special Correspondent

Edapadi: The Ilampillai tank got breached accidentally while workers were removing water hyacinth plants and flooded a few areas in the near-by Perumakoundanpatti village here on Saturday.

No casualty was reported.

Sources said that when the panchayat union workers were removing the weeds from the tank bed, it got breached. Water entered 200 houses in the village forcing the villagers to block the road.

As the tank contained sewers, the villagers feared that they would be facing health problems. Officials rushed to the spot and pacified them.
