Free medical camp held for tribal girls

Rampachodavaram: All India SC/ST Employees’ Welfare Association of ONGC, Rajahmundry, conducted a mega free medical camp in Tribal Welfare Ashram Girls High School at Erlapalli in Rampachodavaram on Saturday. The camp was inaugurated by Ravi Babu, Chairman of AP Legislative Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Tribes.

A team of six doctors headed by Eswara Prasad, District Medical and Health Officer and in-house doctors of ONGC conducted the primary health check up for 509 students of the school.

The villagers from adjoining villages also availed of the free health check-up.

Medicines worth Rs.1 lakh were distributed free of cost. The committee appreciated D.M.R. Sekhar, DGM, for his efforts in conducting such welfare programmes.

Eye check-up

Meanwhile, Rajahmundry MLA Rowthu Suryaprakasha Rao and Mayor A. Veeraraghavamma attended a free eye camp conducted by Gowthami Eye Institute for oldage people in the town.
