BIDAR: Bidar MLA Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli on Saturday visited flooded villages in Bidar and Aurad taluks, to get first-hand information on the situation in these villages. The district received heavy rain in the past four days. Mr. Nagamarapalli visited Alimber, Janawada, and Sangvi in Bidar taluk; and Manigempur and Babli villages in Aurad taluk. After visiting the villages, Mr. Nagamarapalli told presspersons that he would urge the State Government to immediately release Rs. 25 crore to the district to undertake relief works in flooded areas. He asked the State Government to take up relief works immediately.. Mr. Nagamarapalli spoke to the residents of the villages and assured them of providing assistance. Funds for CMCA press release here on Saturday from president of city municipal council (CMC) Rita Fernandez urged the State Government to release Rs. 40 crore for the CMC so that it could take up relief works in the city. Ms. Fernandez visited low-lying areas in Bidar city including Shahganj, Labour Colony, Pratap Nagar, Shivnagar, Halladkeri and Navadgeri which were flooded following the rain. Ms. Rita expressed apprehensions of an outbreak of disease in flooded areas. She urged the State Government to release adequate funds for taking up relief works.
