NZ Governor-General comes visiting

State’s progress impresses Anand Satyanand; he feels nostalgic in Hyderabad

Warm welcome: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy greeting New Zealand Governor-General Anand Satyanand when he called on him in Hyderabad on Saturday.

HYDERABAD: Governor-General of New Zealand Anand Satyanand arrived here on a two-day visit to a warm reception. He was accompanied by his wife Susan.

Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy called on the dignitary at his hotel and in the brief meeting, Mr. Anand Satyanand expressed happiness at the visit to his native State after many years. He turned nostalgic, remembering his ancestors who hailed from Rajahmundry.

While Dr. Reddy briefly showcased the State’s strides on different fronts, Mr. Anand Satyanand said he was impressed by the development in Andhra Pradesh. Indian High Commissioner to New Zealand K. P. Ernest and other officials were present.

The Governor-General visited the Indian School of Business at Gachchibowli and called on Governor N. D. Tiwari at the Raj Bhavan.
