THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city police have opened a control room on the Eve’s Beach in Kovalam as part of strengthening security in the city. The control room will monitor the movement of tourists and vehicles arriving at the beach resort. According to Circle Inspector, Vizhinjam, V. Rajendran, five police personnel and an officer have been stationed at the control room to render assistance to tourists. Over 100 police personnel have been deputed to patrol the beaches. The control room has been set up near Hotel Searock. Two policemen have been deployed to cover 100 metres of the beachfront. Plainclothesmen and women constables have been deployed at the beach resort.
