Stir for Bench completes seven months

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The indefinite satyagraha launched by the members of the Thiruvananthapuram Bar Association demanding the setting up of a High Court Bench in the capital city completed 212 days on Saturday.

T.,J. Chandrachoodan, secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), inaugurated the satyagraha on Thiruvonam day on Friday.

Prof. Chandrachoodan declared his party’s support for the agitation.

For a cause

He lauded the determination and resolve shown by the protesters in “fighting for a just cause.”

C.K. Sitaram president of Thiruvananthapuram Bar Association, presided over the function.

A stall featuring photographs of the protest led by the Bar Association members has come up on the Kanakakkunnu Palace grounds in connection with the Onam celebrations.

Audio CDs, protest songs and books written on the agitation are available at the stall.
