Rain damage

CHICKBALLAPUR: Losses in all the six taluks in the district mounted to Rs. 17.9 crore due to heavy rain that wrought havoc in the past few days, Deputy Commissioner K. Subodh Yadav informed in a press release. While three persons died in house collapses, crops on 600 acres of land were destroyed. More than 200 houses collapsed, while 784 were partially damaged, the release added.
