MALAPPURAM: The national executive committee of the Indian Union Muslim League will meet in New Delhi on Sunday to choose the new president of the party. IUML State president Sayed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal is tipped for the national chief’s post. The names of party national general secretary E. Ahamed and Tamil Nadu State president K.M. Khader Moideen were doing the rounds in IUML circles in the State. However, the party’s State leadership is likely to plump for Mr. Thangal. Party sources said there would be no contender for the post if Mr. Thangal’s name was suggested.
