Nitish seeks Rs.1.5 lakh relief per household
Madhepura: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said he had sought a compensation of Rs 1.5 lakh, Rs 50,000 more than the amount paid to each of the Tsunami-affected families, for those who were rendered homeless in the five flood-ravaged districts in Bihar.
“The Centre had provided Rs.1 lakh for each of the families affected by the Tsunami,” Mr. Kumar told reporters after visiting the mega camp with around 800 tents erected, each with facility to accommodate two families, at Singheshwar Sthan here. Similarly, the Centre should extend aid of Rs 1.5 lakh per household. — PTI
