VADODARA: About 350 anti-social elements have been arrested and 50 persons have been detained under PASA (Preventive Anti social Activities) on the eve of Ganesh idols Immersion falling on Sunday. “Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the peaceful immersion of idols of lord Ganesh in the 22 lakes located in and across the city,” City Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana told PTI.

Over 570 idols would be immersed in the century old Sursagar lake located in the middle of the city, Mr. Asthana said. As a precaution measures two companies of Rapid Action Force and Border Wing of Home Guards had been conducting flag march in the sensitive areas of the city for the past several days, he said.

Fencings were erected in sensitive areas after consulting with the locals, Mr. Asthana said.
