Rosario to coach E. Bengal

KOLKATA: Henry Stanley Rozario is the new East Bengal coach.

Following its poor showing in the domestic football league, East Bengal decided to appoint the assistant coach of the Indian team in an effort to boost the team’s spirits ahead of the upcoming I-League.

Rozario, who also held talks with Vasco, preferred to answer to the offer made by East Bengal, which announced the new coach’s appointment on Saturday.

Rozario would be taking over the post vacated by Manoranjan Bhattacharya, who resigned as the coach earlier in the day taking responsibility of the team poor performance.

East Bengal, which drew 1-1 against Mohun Bagan on Friday, finished third in the Calcutta Football League. — Principal Correspondent
