Two women drown in Periyar river

KOCHI: Two women were drowned in Periyar River. They were identified as Manju, 25, wife of Vinod, Parayil Veedu, Manjali, Mattupuram, and Chithira, 16, daughter of Babu, Chambelparambu Veedu, Kalikulangara.

They had gone to Mattupuram ghat to bathe.

Bodies of the deceased were released after post-mortem, said the police

Two Telugu boys in search of their mother were given a helping hand by the ChildLine, Kochi. The two boys, one of them 12-year-old Munj had come in search of their mother who was selling wigs in the City, said a press release here. The younger of the boys was admitted to the General Hospital with fever. The children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee, Ernakulam
