Vishwesh moves up

HYDERABAD: Vishwesh Sinha defeated Armaar Choudhary 6-3, 6-1 in the boys first round (qualifying) of the ITF Grade V juniors’ tennis tournament at SAAP Tennis Complex here on Saturday.

SCR triumphs

South Central Railway (Vijayawada division) lifted the United Breweries Challenge Cup in the State-level football tournament with a 1-0 win over Sports Authority of India Sports Hostel (Kurnool) in the final at the Sri Venkateswara High School grounds at Tirupati on Saturday, according to information received here.

The goal was scored by Srinivas in the 25th minute of the first half.

In the semifinals, SCR outplayed Vijayawada Football Club 4-0, while SAI Sports Hostel beat Guntur District Football Association 1-0.
