Woman ends life

BANGALORE: A woman committed suicide on Saturday reportedly after a quarrel with her husband.

She has been identified as Ambika (28) of Virupaksha Nagar near Kodigehalli. Ambika, who hailed from Madhugiri in Tumkur district, married Balaraju, a mason, four years ago.

On Friday night, she quarrelled with Balaraju and hanged herself around 7 a.m. on Saturday, according to the police said.

A 35-year-old man died on the spot when a van belonging to a college hit him near Panthapalya near Byatarayanapura on Friday.

The victim has not yet been identified.

Van driver Murthy has been arrested.

Six persons were arrested on Saturday in connection with the Jagjivan Ram Nagar group clash.

The accused created panic amongst the public and assaulted a private firm employee, Indra Kumar, on Friday, the police said.
