Yesudas to inaugurate varsity union

Kozhikode: Renowned singer K.J. Yesudas will inaugurate the Calicut University Union’s activities for 2008-09 at the Tagore Centenary Hall here at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Union general secretary Mohammed Safi Qureshi and chairman S.K. Sajeesh said here on Monday that veteran Carnatic musician V. Dakshinamoorthy would be launching a website detailing universities in the country and featuring well-known musicians. A cultural event presented by Kala Keralam and marked by folk songs by C.J. Kuttappan and Mappila songs by Abutty would also be held on the occasion, they said.
