dated September 16, 1958: Situation in Kerala

Mr. V.R. Krishna Aiyar, Minister for Law, Kerala, made a categorical statement here, at a Press Conference, to-day, on the conditions in Kerala that “we are neither on the brink nor anywhere near ‘civil war’.” He resented the reports that the Kerala Government interfered with the judiciary and said that “the biggest political lie that has ever been uttered in India since independence is that we interfere with the judiciary.” The Press Conference was held at the “New Woodlands” in Edward Elliots Road.
