CPI(M-L) plans stir against exploitation of ryots

Special Correspondent

LUCKNOW: The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) will launch a mass movement against exploitation of farmers and labourers whose land has been acquired for building malls, hi-tech cities and special economic zones, general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the third national convention of the All India Khet Mazdoor Sabha would be held on November 7 and 8 in Ballia (Uttar Pradesh) for finalising the agitation strategy.

Funds meant for the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme were being siphoned off, and the law safeguarding land rights of tribals and forest dwellers was not being implemented in Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Bhattacharya alleged.
