Collector distributes welfare assistance

Coimbatore: The Collector, V. Palanikumar, distributed welfare assistance worth Rs 1.77 lakh to 32 beneficiaries at the grievance day programme held here recently.

He also gave away DVD and CD player to five visually challenged persons. Seven persons were given Rs. 10,000 each under the Distress Relief Scheme.

He also gave away financial assistance to destitute women and orders for monthly financial assistance to physically challenged persons. Under the Farm Labourers Social Security Scheme, the Collector also gave away cheques for Rs. 5,000 to three persons.
