Woman found dead

Special Correspondent

MADURAI: Rajammal (65) of Thaikkal Street was found dead in her house on Tuesday.

Police said she was alone as her husband Chandrasekaran, a priest, was away. It is suspected that a known person committed the crime.

Inquiries revealed that a gold chain was missing from the body, which had cut injuries in the head. A vegetable cutter had blood stains.

A senior police officer said a team had been formed. “We have some clues on the person who visited the house prior to the offence,” he maintained.
