Sub-jr. Natl. sepak takraw from tomorrow

HYDERABAD: The sub-junior National sepak takraw championships will be held at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Victory Playground, here from September 18 to 21.

About 24 States are expected to take part in the vent, said Mukesh Goud, Chairman, Organising Committee and AP Minister for BC Welfare at a press conference, here on Tuesday.

Also addressing the press conference were S.R. Prem Raj, Director (Sports), GHMC and coach Jayakumar, under whose tutelage several players from the State have claimed honours at the National and international levels, notably the annual Kings Cup World Championships at Bangkok and the Indoor Asian Games at Macau.

The participating States: Boys: Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Delhi, Assam, Goa, Karnataka, Orissa, Tamil Nadu.

Girls: Manipur, Delhi, Nagaland, Orissa, Assam, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu. — Special Correspondent
