SAI girls enter final

THRISSUR: SAI (Thrissur) edged out St. Xavier’s (Aluva) 59-54 to enter the final of the Champions Trophy basketball tournament here on Wednesday.

K.R. Neethu top-scored for the Thrissur side with 22 points. She was complemented well by Simi Jacob (13) and K. Dhanya (12).

For St. Xavier’s, M.J. Linda (16) and K. Pravisha (14) did the bulk of the scoring.

SAI will meet the winner of the second semifinal between KSEB (Thiruvananthapuram) and Centralised Sports Hostel (Kollam).

The results:

Men (league): BSNL 77 (Rahul Krishnan 22, Vijobi Vakkachan 16) bt KSEB 60 (Monish Wilson 26, S.S. Deepu 10).

KSEB 82 (Monish Wilson 24, Ratish 109) bt Sree Kerala Varma College (Thrissur) 81 (Eudrick Pereira 15).

Women (semifinal):

SAI (Thrissur) 59 (K.R. Neethu 22, Simi Jacob 13, K. Dhanya 12) bt St. Xavier’s (Aluva) 54 (M.J. Linda 16, K. Pravisha 14).

League:
