CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has decided to develop Gurgaon, Pinjore and Karnal as Meeting Incentive Conference Event (MICE) destinations, announced Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday after presiding over the first meeting of the Haryana Tourism Development Council. It was also decided in principle that the Tourism Department should develop pilgrim destinations at Kurukshetra-Pehowa-Hardwar, Hodal as part of Brij Circuit. It also decided to develop Narnaul as heritage city on the way to Shekhavati. It was suggested that air linkages, road and rail connectivity to various tourists places should be strengthened especially in Kurukshetra. It was also decided subject to Cabinet approval that the Tourism Department would develop an integrated tourism resort at Kalesar for long-term lease on about nine acres of land in public-private partnership. Kalesar is situated in the foothills of Shivalik ranges of the Himalayas in Yamunanagar district, sharing the boundary with Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. The Council also recommended that an integrated tourism resort and spa be developed at Mallah which is situated near Chandigarh over nine acres of land. It also recommended that an integrated tourism resort and spa be developed at Madhogarh which lies on the Mahendragarh-Loharu State Highway. It was also decided to develop adventure camp sites at Surajkund , Damdama, Hodal and Dharuhera tourist complexes.
