Grievances of transgenders to be redressed

Krishnagiri: The grievances of transgenders will be redressed, said District Collector (in charge) Nagarajan here on Wednesday.
A meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Nagarajan to review the survey on transgenders in Krishnagiri district. While distributing survey forms to the Social Welfare Department officials, Mr. Nagaraj said, “transgenders who are living in the district can obtain the forms from the District Social Welfare Department office in Krishnagiri.”
Assistance
This would be useful for them to avail assistance under various government schemes like speedy disbursal of house plot patta and ration cards. The survey began on September 11 and will be completed on Friday. Krishnagiri MLA D. Senguttuvan spoke on the occasion.
DRDA Project Officer C.K. Veerannan, Women Development Officer Sridharan, District Collector’s Personal Secretary (General) C. Prakasam, and District Tamil Social Welfare Board member G. Revathi Mohan participated.
Transgenders’ Association president Sharmila, Roja, Sneha and others participated.
District Social Welfare Officer Bhuvaneswari welcomed the gathering.
