Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR: Speakers at a meeting organised by All-India Students’ Federation in the College of Engineering (JNTU) here on Thursday advised students against the culture of ragging and instead asked them to spread friendship in the best interests of society.

Vice-Chancellor of JNTU-Anantapur B. Krishna Gandhi, Superintendent of Police M.K. Singh, Rector of the university K. Soundara Rajan, Registrar Vijay Kumar and others said those involved in ragging would not only face criminal charges but their careers would also come to an end. AISF leaders I. Bayanna and B. Ramana urged the managements to hold awareness meetings against ragging. They also urged the police to enforce the Anti-Ragging Act strictly and take action against the managements violaiting them.

Earlier, the V-C, SP and others released posters prepared by AISF against ragging with ‘Ragging Samskruti Vaddu-Snehame Muddu’.
