VIZIANAGARAM: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute, Visakhapatnam branch, conducted an intensive industrial motivation campaign at Maharajah’s Post-Graduate College here on Wednesday. Some 120 students participated in the programme. Speaking on the occasion, S.D.P. Sarma, Assistant General Manager of Nabard, who was the chief guest, while explaining the opportunities available in different service-oriented activities, suggested that the students start their own units rather than seeking employment in public/private sectors. Financial assistanceK. Bhanoji Rao, Chief Manager of Karur Vysya Bank, detailed the bank’s role in industrial financing and said that the new entrepreneurs could also take over sick units and pull them out of red through concerted effort. P.V. Phansibhushana Rao, Deputy Manager, APSFC, explained a variety of financial schemes offered by the corporation. K. Hanumantha Rao, Director of the college, who presided, thanked the MSME-DI for organising the campaign in the college. Later, at the technical session, A. Ganeswara Rao, Development Officer, KVIC, Visakhapatnam, G. Satyanarayana, Project Coordinator, APITCO, Visakhapatnam, P. Radha Krishna Murty, Industry Promotion Officer, DIC, Vizianagaram, and G. Raghu Ram, Assistant Director, MSME-DI detailed the facilities offered by their departments. Srinivas Subba Rao, Head of the Department (Centre for Management Research) of the college and others participated. Ms. Chandi Priya, a student of MBA proposed a vote thanks.
