Stay on order

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday stayed a single judge order directing the Chief Secretary to initiate disciplinary action against a former Commissioner of Chikaballapur City Municipal Council.

A Division Bench comprising Justice V. Gopala Gowda and Justice Keshavaranayana passed the order on a petition by Thippesha, the former CMC Commissioner.

In his appeal, Mr. Thippesha said he was not the CMC Commissioner when the order had been passed.

The Bench stayed for four weeks only that portion of the order relating to the direction to the Chief Secretary and adjourned further hearing of the case. — Staff Reporter
