This Day That Age
Dr. Bhagwan Das, eminent philosopher, died at Banaras on September 18. He was 90. A recipient of the award of Bharat Ratna in 1955, Dr. Bhagwan Das dedicated his life to deep learning. He was an erudite scholar in Persian and Sanskrit and had studied deeply the writings of Indian and Western thinkers, ancient as well as modern, and it was his passion to understand philosophically the complexities of life and death, of joy and sorrow, of good and evil.
