VIJAYAWADA: Municipal Commissioner P.S. Pradyumna on Thursday asked the health officials and staff to take the necessary measures to ensure that communicable diseases do not break out in the city. He wanted them to take up a special health surveillance programme and identify those suffering from fever and other diseases. Addressing a meeting on Thursday, Mr. Pradyumna asked the community organisers, Asha workers and other health staff to be vigilant and take blood samples of people suffering from fever and administer paracetamol to them. The special surveillance programme would be taken up in One Town and Krishnalanka initially and extended other places gradually, he said. Chief Medical Officer of Health M. Satyanarayana Raju, biologist P.V. Rama Rao and others were present.
