No change in charge for road cutting

Municipal Commissioner P. S. Pradyumna stated that there was no change in road cutting charges for underground drainage (UGD) connections. The people would have to pay the road-cutting charges as usual, he said. His clarification came in the wake of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation’s recent move to lower the UGD donation fee. The corporation lowered the donation fee for each connection from Rs. 2,500 to Rs.1,000. The scheme, however, applies only to those house owners who pay a property tax of less than Rs. 400 a year.
