Seminar on 50 years of TV in India

BANGALORE: Doordarshan Kendra, Bangalore, jointly with the Department of Electronic Media, Bangalore University, is organising a seminar on “50 years of television in India” on Saturday at the Jnanajyothi Auditorium on Central College Campus here. It will be inaugurated by the writer and filmmaker Girish Karnad at 10 a.m. Director of Doordarshan, Bangalore, Mahesh Joshi, told presspersons here on Thursday that the seminar comprises five sessions including three on “Entertainment industry, role of animations in television and credibility of news-comparative analysis.”
“The seminar is designed to facilitate the students of mass communication, and the recorded versions of these sessions will be telecast on Chandana,” he added.
Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University H.T. Rathod will participate in it.
