NAARM starts new course

HYDERABAD: National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) has introduced a new one-year PG Diploma in IT Management in Agriculture .

“The course aims at developing a competent cadre of IT executives with an agricultural background who will work in the field of agriculture IT management for sustainable livelihoods and increased agricultural productivity,” Dr. S.M. Hyas, Director, NAARM, told reporters on Thursday.

“We are not aiming at creating software programmers, but rather we want to create bridge professionals who are more information and systems specialists and who will stick to the agricultural field,” said D.S.K Rao, I.T Consultant.

Students with an undergraduate degree in any agricultural sciences are eligible. The last date for applying for the course is September 22. Candidates can submit their application online or fax the same. More details regarding applications are available on www.naarm.ernet.in.
