Competitions for students

KARUR: To bring out the innate talents of the college students in the district, essay, elocution and poetry competitions were conducted on the occasion of Periyar E. V. Ramasamy Naicker’s birth anniversary.
K. Muthukrishnan of Arungarai Amman College of Arts and Science won the top honours in the poetry competition and essay competitions while M. Anith Sree of Sri Aurobindo Nursing College, Vennamalai, walked away with the first prize in the elocution competition. The winners are eligible for the State level competitions to be conducted in Chennai later, according to Assistant Director, Tamil Development, G. Sivasamy.
