Sirimanotsavam on October 14

VIZIANAGARAM: The annual ‘Sirimanotsavam’ of Sri Pydithalli Ammavaru, the presiding deity of the fort town, will be celebrated on October 14 (Tuesday), Chandu Hanumanthu Rao, Executive Officer of Sri Pydithalli Ammavari Devasthanam has said. At a press conference on Friday, he said that the month-long celebrations of the deity would begin from October 1 and end with Chandi Yagam and Poornahuti on November 5. He said on the day preceding Sirimanotsavam, on October 13, Tholellu of the village goddess would be celebrated. According to other details he released, the Teppotsavam is on October 21 and Vuyyala Kambala on Nov 11. The ‘mandala deeksha’ begins on September 25. He said a decision on who would represent the “Ammavaru” on the day of “Sirimanotsavam” would be decided in a couple of days. He said arrangements for the celebrations were being made in consultation with the Collector and other officials. Later, RDO S. Dilli Rao held discussions with the temple committee, officials and others in his chambers.
