dated September 20, 1958: Children’s theatre

Presiding over the inaugural film-show at the Children’s Theatre in the Government Estate, Madras, on September 16, Mr. C. Subramaniam, Finance Minister, expressed the hope that with the increasing interest which children were expected to evince in such shows, there would be greater production of films of both educative and entertainment value. Mr. Subramaniam said it was proposed to conduct regular shows and he hoped the children of Madras would make the best use of them.
