Paswan seeks ban on Bajrang Dal, VHP

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has demanded an immediate ban on the Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).

In a statement, he said the National Minorities Commission and the National Women’s Commission had “established” the role of the two outfits in inciting communal hatred and attacking minority institutions in Karnataka. Besides, the Bajrang Dal leaders had openly admitted their involvement in the attacks on Christians in Orissa and Karnataka.

Mr. Paswan drew attention to the last month Kanpur incident, where two Bajrang Dal activists were killed while making bombs.

Explosives and bomb-making material of the type used in the Delhi blasts was recovered from the explosion site, he said.
