Sewage water for industrial needs - Reader's Mail

Owing to the disposal of large amounts of improperly-treated sewage water of Kurnool into the Tungabhadra, the river is getting heavily polluted. This comes as a blessing in disguise for the industries on the other side of the river to meet their large water needs round the year through treatment of polluted water of the wells in the riverbed. It becomes possible to keep the environment clean if a policy decision is taken to supply sewage water direct to the industries rather than letting into the river. Water needs of the industries can then be met by the riverbed wells and sewage water.

Out of order ATMs

The State Bank of India has not less than four ATM counters at different places in Guntakal town. But they are perpetually under repair . Technical hitches and bank officials’ negligence to feed the machine in time appear to be the cause. Hope the officials look into the matter and resolve the issue.

Need for divider on culvert

The traffic flow on the Nadimi Vanka culvert in Anantapur is heavy but the culvert has little width despite being modernised recently. There is a need for constructing an embankment on either side of the culvert to the raise the bridge level to that of the roads either side. Hope the authorities look into matter.

Poor water supply

The Guntakal municipality is still supplying water only once in five days and some times in six days. This, despite a very vigorous monsoon that has filled almost all the reservoirs. This is causing lot of hardship to the commoners who have no alternate ways of getting water. The authorities are requested to remedy the situation.

Think twice

Is it necessary to have a separate Telangana State? If it were so, make Hyderabad a central territory to avert untoward incidents. But please recall those days of 1947-48, Muslim League, Khasim Rizvi, Layak Ali, Linguistic States, States Reorganisation, hegemony of the landlords and the like. Think twice before you leap. Kiran,

Hyderabad
