Southco engineers’ stir continues

KORAPUT: People in Naraynpatna, Bandhugaon and Laxmipur blocks of Koraput district are facing difficulty in utilising rebate on their electric bills as there is no arrangement to receive the payment either at the counters or at their doorstep . The non-cooperation movement of all the 49 engineers , being organized under the banner of Southco Power Engineers’ Association reached the seventh day on Sunday.

The engineers submitted their money receipt books in the office demanding maintenance materials such as transformers and AB switches, Bijay Chandra Jena, general secretary of the association, said. The association said the engineers were subjected to manhandling from the public due to lack of maintenance materials.
